Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Abra Malaga - Santa Maria
At 6:30 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the journey toward the high jungle. After approximately 2 hours, we’ll arrive in Ollantaytambo, where we’ll stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast.
We’ll then continue by private transport to Abra Málaga (4,300 meters above sea level), the starting point of our biking adventure.
Biking descent: For about 3 hours, we’ll descend by bike toward Santa María, passing through stunning cloud forest scenery, with amazing views, coffee and coca leaf plantations, and charming Andean villages.
Along the route, we’ll take a break to enjoy lunch, and then continue to the town of Santa María, where we’ll take part in an exciting rafting activity on the Vilcanota River (included in the program, weather permitting).
At the end of the day, we’ll settle into a local guesthouse, the perfect place to rest and recharge for the next day of adventure.

Hiking from Santa María to Quellomayo and Santa Teresa
On this day, we will wake up early at 6:00 AM to enjoy a hearty breakfast before continuing our hike along a river. You will need to carry your own luggage during the hike.
We will ascend a mountain for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until we reach the highest point, where we will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley and the canyon. This hike will also take us along the original Inca trail to the village of Quellomayo, where we will stop for lunch around noon. After a short rest, we will continue our hike along the old road to Santa Teresa.
Along the way, we will have the opportunity to relax in the thermal baths of Santa Teresa (entrance fee of 10 soles, not included in the price), providing a perfect moment to unwind before continuing the journey.
The total hiking time will be approximately 8 hours, covering a distance of 12 km, with a starting elevation of 1575 meters ASL / 5167 feet ASL and a camp elevation of 2400 meters ASL / 7874 feet ASL. The hike is rated as easy, making it suitable for all levels of adventurers.
At the end of the day, we will arrive in Santa Teresa, where we will rest in a local guesthouse to relax and prepare for the next day of adventure.

Santa Teresa - Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes
We will have breakfast at 6:00 AM, and then we’ll be picked up for the zipline activity, which is included in the tour. The group transport will pick you up in Santa Teresa and take you to the zipline activity, where you’ll enjoy an exciting ride down the valley.
After the zipline activity, the same transport will take the zipline participants to the hydroelectric plant, where we will have a delicious lunch.
After a short rest, we will continue walking along the train tracks, passing by beautiful waterfalls, coca and coffee plantations, and much more, until we reach Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo) around 4:00 PM. Here, we will spend the third and final night in a comfortable lodge with hot water and Wi-Fi.
In the evening, we will meet for dinner at a tourist restaurant, followed by an informative meeting about the fourth day and Machu Picchu. You will also have free time to explore the town on your own. Aguas Calientes has more hot springs, so if you wish to relax in the hot water, you’ll have the opportunity to visit them.

the most important day - machu picchu!
Today is the most anticipated day of the tour: the visit to the majestic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
Early in the morning (around 4:00 AM), we will get ready to head to Machu Picchu. You’ll have two options to reach the entrance:
- Option 1: Tourist bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu
Additional cost: $12 USD each way
Comfortable 30-minute ride. - Option 2: Hike from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu
Steep hike that takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. - Our guide will meet you at the entrance gate of Machu Picchu to begin a 2 to 2.5-hour guided tour, exploring the temples, terraces, plazas, the Sun Dial, and many other important areas of this mystical Inca city built high in the mountains.
Optional hikes (advance reservation required):
- Huayna Picchu: $60
- Machu Picchu Mountain: $60
- Sun Gate or Inca Bridge: free (no extra ticket needed)
Return to Cusco – Option 1: By Train
- After the tour, you will have free time for lunch (not included) and to explore Aguas Calientes.
- You’ll take the train at 4:22 PM (subject to availability) to Ollantaytambo, where our private transport will be waiting to take you back to Cusco (arrival around 8:00 PM).
Return to Cusco – Option 2: By Car
- After the tour and lunch, you will walk back to the Hydroelectric Station (approximately 3 hours).
- From there, our private vehicle will take you back to Cusco, arriving around 9:00 PM.
