During the Inca Jungle Trek (3 days and 2 nights), you will experience a thrilling adventure as you hike through mountains, valleys, and rivers, passing by small villages, coca plantations, coffee fields, and a variety of fruit trees. Following ancient Inca trails that lead to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu, you’ll even have the chance to enjoy a relaxing soak in the Cocalmayo hot springs, known for their healing properties, especially for rheumatism and muscle fatigue.

This trek is considered one of the most exciting and complete routes to Machu Picchu, as it combines nature, culture, adventure, and direct interaction with the daily lives of local Andean communities.

By taking part in this journey, you are also supporting local communities by purchasing fresh fruits, bottled water, and visiting family-owned restaurants and lodges. The locals are always grateful for the presence of travelers and happy to share a piece of their culture with you.

Cusco – Santa Maria – Santa Teresa (Biking and Rafting)

At 6:30 a.m., we will depart from Cusco heading towards the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast to start the day with energy.

We will then continue by transportation to Abra Málaga (4,350 meters / 14,160 feet), the starting point of our biking adventure. After a brief safety talk and preparation of the equipment provided by the guide, we will begin our descent.

We will bike downhill for approximately 3 hours (9.5 km / 5.9 miles), through a scenic route that passes snow-capped mountains, cloud forests, and tropical plantations, until we reach the archaeological site of Huamanmarca, where we will enjoy an included lunch.

After lunch, we will continue with the rafting activity on the Vilcanota River (included). Safety equipment (helmet, windbreaker, and life jacket category V) will be provided.

After rafting, we will take transport to the town of Santa María, where we will spend our first night at a comfortable local accommodation with basic services.

DAY

The Most Important Day – Machu Picchu!

Today is the most anticipated day of the tour, as you will visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World. To enjoy the sunrise at the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, the excursion will begin early in the morning.

  • Option 1 (Bus): You can take the bus that ascends in 30 minutes to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The bus costs $12 USD.
  • Option 2 (Walk): If you prefer a more active experience, you can walk for approximately 1.5 hours to the entrance of Machu Picchu, enjoying the impressive views as you ascend.

Once you reach the Machu Picchu entrance, your guide will meet you and begin the 2-hour guided tour of the most important temples of the Inca city, such as the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Three Windows.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own. If you have booked in advance, you can climb Huayna Picchu Mountain (2,800 meters/9,186.35 feet) or Machu Picchu Mountain (3,082 meters/10,111.55 feet) for an additional cost of $20 USD. Please note that Huayna Picchu is limited to only 400 people per day, so it is recommended to book at least three months in advance.

Take some time to relax, meditate, and enjoy the magical and spiritual energy of this extraordinary place.
